NIGHT OF THE DEMONS - Adam Giersch (Remake)

Status:  On DVD October 19, 2010

 Starring:  Edward Furlong
               Shannon Elizabeth
               Monica Keena

Teen shananigans center around a Halloween party in a haunted New Orleans mansion.  After all the tricks, treats, and tits are gone, it's the demons turn to have some fun.

Notes:  I admit it, I have a thing for Edward Furlong and his taste for secondary film credits.  Terminator 2, Pet Semetary 2, and CSI: NY.  Not to mention he was genius in American History X.  Shannon Elizabeth is one titty trophy I find endearing; and I love to watch her die.  I'm also happy to find Monica Kenna climbing the Boo Bitch ladder since Freddy vs. Jason.

              Rachel Blanchard
              Anna Paquin

A couple of killers find themselves in a familiar situasion: posing as would be home buyers and then torturing the owners.  This time isn't so standard, when the prey doesn't go down easy, and the blood spilled could be their own.

Notes:  Yes, Mr. and Mrs. True Blood are in this film, and the director is Anna's brother.

THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL - Ti West

Status: On DVD, and Netflix Instant

 Starring: Jocelin Donahue
               Tom Noonan
               Mary Woronov
               Greta Gerwig

Samantha and her college friend Megan take a babysitting job from hell. Aren't they all?  What makes this babysitting excursion worse than the standard snot nosed kids that you want to knock out with Nyquil, Jim Beam, and a smack to the mouth are blood thirsty parents and a question of whether there even is a brat at all.  The film is set and shot in 1980's style, a time before the mass exodus of mexican nannies but soon after 1979's When A Stranger Calls.

Notes:  Heavily reviewed, the film seems to divide audiences between retro roller coaster and stab in the dark, except into a pile of shit.
